Design Statement
Sunrise Coven is a show all about supporting your community and breaking down assumptions about people who are different from yourself. Throughout the play, the main character has unexplained visions, and it isn’t clear if they are from a medical or magical cause.  The lighting supported the exploration of magic, spirituality, and logicality by basing the lighting in reality. By making each lighting look as realistic as possible, it provided the visions with credibility, opening the audience up to explore some of their preconceived notions about spirituality, addiction, and community.
