Design Statement
Canvas is a show that explores society's judgment of the value of advanced academic performance and artistic creativity. The show follows two school boys whose friendship ebbs and flows as they each discover their passions in life. My lighting choices meshed with the worlds of projections, music, and dance. As the show shifted between moments of reality in classrooms, to moments of painterly abstraction the lighting shifted from a stark fluorescent school look into shifting colors/angles.
